udyan.mePrivacy Policy for JobAssist
Effective Date: 27 September 2026
Last Updated: 27 September 2026
Applies to: JobAssist for Android (package com.ironfist.jobassist), distributed through Google Play.
1. Summary
JobAssist keeps reusable application profiles, email templates and attachments on your device and helps you insert them into other apps and emails. It has no user accounts, no login, no advertising, and no JobAssist-operated server. Your profiles, templates and attachments never reach us.
Only these things leave your device:
| What | Where it goes | Can you turn it off? |
|---|---|---|
| Emails you choose to compose, including their text and attachments | Handed to the email app you pick, which sends them — JobAssist never sends email itself | Yes — simply don't send; nothing is transmitted until you do |
| Pseudonymous crash, performance and usage diagnostics | Google Firebase (Crashlytics, Performance, Analytics) | Not currently in-app; see §11 |
| A version check against the app's Google Play listing | Google Play | No — it is a standard web request with no personal content |
We do not sell or share personal information, as those terms are defined under the CCPA/CPRA, and we do not use any data for advertising.

3. Data We Collect
3.1 Data that never leaves your device
JobAssist stores the following in the app's private storage. It is not transmitted to us or to any third party:
- Profiles — the names, section labels and values you enter, such as your name, phone number, e-mail address, links, work history or cover-letter text
- Email templates — template names, subjects, bodies, signatures and the profile each one is linked to
- Attachments — copies of files you choose through the system file picker (for example a résumé), up to 25 MB each
- App settings and onboarding state
JobAssist opts out of Android cloud backup (allowBackup="false"), so this data is not copied to Google Drive or device-to-device transfers. Deleting a profile, template or attachment in the app removes it; uninstalling the app or clearing its storage removes everything.
3.2 Data handled only while you use a feature
JobAssist integrates with Android so your saved details are available in other apps. In each case the data is processed on your device, for that single action, and is neither stored nor transmitted by JobAssist:
- Email links (
mailto:) — if you open an e-mail link with JobAssist, it reads the recipient, subject and body from that link, fills in your chosen template, and hands the finished draft and attachments to the email app you select. That app, not JobAssist, sends the message, under its own privacy policy. - Text selection menu — when you choose JobAssist from the text selection menu in another app, JobAssist returns the profile value you pick to replace the selection. It does not read or keep the text you selected.
- Autofill Service (optional) — only if you enable JobAssist as your Autofill Service in Android Settings, Android shares the structure of the form on screen so JobAssist can offer matching profile values as suggestions. JobAssist does not save what you type into other apps: it declines every save request, and never offers suggestions inside itself.
3.3 Diagnostics and analytics (Google Firebase)
JobAssist uses Firebase Crashlytics, Firebase Performance Monitoring and Firebase Analytics. Collection is disabled entirely in debug builds and enabled only in the released app.
Collected:
- Crash reports — stack traces, exception type and message, Android version, device model and app version
- Performance traces — app start time, screen rendering and network request timings
- Analytics events — screen views and a fixed list of events:
onboarding_completed,profile_saved,profile_deleted,template_saved,template_deletedandtest_email_compose. Parameters are limited to counts and flags, such as the number of sections or attachments, whether an item is new, and the outcome of opening an email app. - Identifiers — the Firebase app-instance ID, a pseudonymous identifier for this installation that resets when you clear app data or uninstall, and, as part of Firebase Analytics' standard operation, the Android Advertising ID where your device makes it available
We therefore do not receive: profile names or values, template text, e-mail recipients, attachment names or contents, or anything you type into other apps.
3.4 Update check
To tell you when a newer version is required, JobAssist fetches its public Google Play listing and compares version numbers. The request carries only what any web request does, such as your IP address and device language, and contains none of your data.
3.5 Data we do not collect
JobAssist does not collect, and does not request permission to access: location, contacts, calendar, SMS or call logs, microphone, camera, photos or media libraries, health data, biometric data, or account information. There is no sign-up. Files are read only when you pick them yourself.
4. Android Permissions
| Permission | Why it is needed | Data leaving the device |
|---|---|---|
INTERNET | Diagnostics and the update check | Yes — see §3.3, §3.4 |
ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE, WAKE_LOCK | Added by Firebase so diagnostics are uploaded when a connection is available | No, by themselves |
AD_ID and related Android ad-services permissions | Added by Firebase Analytics for its standard measurement; JobAssist shows no ads | Yes — see §3.3 |
BIND_GET_INSTALL_REFERRER_SERVICE | Added by Firebase Analytics to record how the app was installed from Google Play | Yes — see §3.3 |
BIND_AUTOFILL_SERVICE (held by Android, not granted to the app) | Lets Android bind the optional Autofill Service you enable in Settings | No — see §3.2 |
JobAssist uses the Storage Access Framework for attachments: you pick each file through the system picker and JobAssist copies only that file. It has no broad filesystem access.
5. How and Why We Use Data
| Purpose | Data used | Legal basis (GDPR Art. 6) |
|---|---|---|
| Provide the profile, template, email and autofill features you request | Local data (§3.1, §3.2) | Contract — Art. 6(1)(b) |
| Keep the app stable and diagnose crashes | Crash and performance diagnostics (§3.3) | Legitimate interests — Art. 6(1)(f) |
| Understand which features are used, in aggregate | Analytics events (§3.3) | Legitimate interests — Art. 6(1)(f) |
| Prompt you to install required updates | Update check (§3.4) | Legitimate interests — Art. 6(1)(f) |
Where we rely on legitimate interests, we have assessed that our interest in operating and improving a free application does not override your rights, in part because diagnostics contain none of your profile or template content (§3.3). You may object to this processing at any time (§11).
6. Third Parties and Processors
| Service | Role | Data | Policy |
|---|---|---|---|
| Firebase Crashlytics | Crash diagnostics | §3.3 | https://firebase.google.com/support/privacy |
| Firebase Performance Monitoring | Performance diagnostics | §3.3 | https://firebase.google.com/support/privacy |
| Firebase Analytics | Aggregate usage analytics | §3.3 | https://firebase.google.com/support/privacy |
| Google Play | App distribution and the update check | §3.4 | https://policies.google.com/privacy |
We have no other processors, and no advertising, attribution or tracking SDKs beyond those listed.
The email app you choose to send with, and the apps you autofill or insert text into, are not our processors. They are independent apps chosen by you and governed by their own privacy policies.
7. Data Retention
| Data | Retention |
|---|---|
| Profiles, templates, attachments and settings (on device) | Until you delete them, clear app data or uninstall the app |
| Crash reports | Retained by Google per Firebase Crashlytics defaults (currently 90 days) |
| Analytics events | Retained by Google per the configured Firebase Analytics retention window |
| Performance traces | Retained by Google per Firebase Performance defaults |
We do not maintain any database of our own, so we hold no copy of your data beyond what Google retains on our behalf in the consoles listed above.
8. Children's Privacy
JobAssist is a job-application tool and is not directed to children. It is not published in Google Play's Designed for Families programme. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or the applicable age of digital consent in your jurisdiction, up to 16 in parts of the EEA). If you believe a child has used the app and you wish to have any associated data removed, contact us at the address in §2 and we will act promptly.
9. International Transfers
Google processes data in the United States and other countries. Where personal data is transferred out of the EEA, UK or Switzerland, Google relies on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses and, where applicable, the EU-US / UK / Swiss-US Data Privacy Framework. Details are in Google's own policies linked in §6.
10. Security
- No JobAssist-operated backend exists, so there is no central store of user data to breach.
- Profiles, templates and attachments live in app-private storage that other apps cannot read, and are excluded from cloud backup.
- Attachments are shared with an email app only through temporary, per-message file grants.
- All traffic to Google services uses TLS.
- Release builds are code-shrunk and obfuscated.
No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. Your device's screen lock is the main protection for data stored on it.
11. Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal data held about you
- Rectify inaccurate data
- Erase your data ("right to be forgotten")
- Restrict or object to processing, including processing based on legitimate interests
- Data portability — receive your data in a machine-readable format
- Opt out of sale/sharing and of targeted advertising (CCPA/CPRA, and comparable US state laws) — note that JobAssist does not sell or share personal information as defined by those laws
- Non-discrimination for exercising any of these rights
- Lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority (in the EEA/UK) or applicable regulator
How to exercise them, in practice:
| You want to… | Do this |
|---|---|
| Edit or delete a profile, template or attachment | Do it directly in the app |
| Stop autofill suggestions | Android Settings → Passwords & accounts (or System → Languages & input) → Autofill service → choose another service or None |
| Stop JobAssist opening e-mail links | Android Settings → Apps → JobAssist → Open by default |
| Reset your advertising identifier | Android Settings → Privacy → Ads → Delete advertising ID |
| Delete everything JobAssist holds locally | Android Settings → Apps → JobAssist → Storage → Clear data, or uninstall |
| Request access to, or deletion of, diagnostic data, or object to it | E-mail us at the address in §2, including your Firebase app-instance ID if you can provide it |
Because the diagnostic data we receive is pseudonymous (§3.3), we may be unable to link it to you individually. In that case, under GDPR Art. 11 we may ask for additional information to locate it, or explain why we cannot.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy as the app evolves or as legal requirements change. Material changes will be reflected in the Last Updated date at the top and, where the change is significant, surfaced in the app or in the Google Play release notes. Continued use after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
